508-695-7773 saintmarkreled@verizon.net The Religious Educationprogram of St. Mark's Parishseeks to provide adults, youth, andchildren with the knowledge, experiences, and skillsnecessary to become faithfuldisciples of Jesus Christ. The materialtaught for all grade levels is how to become a disciple ofJesus Christ by the experience of the Church's mission whichincludes word, worship, and service. We live out themission of the word by reading scripture and spreading theGood News of Jesus Christ. We carry out the mission ofworship as we participate in liturgies, communal prayer,and participating in the sacraments. We live out themission of service as we serveone another and the Church. TheReligious Education program will offer formal classes, smallgroup experiences, prayer experiences, familyactivities, liturgical andsacramental celebrations and offerinvolvement in service projects. TheReligious Education programwill prepare children for the Sacrament of Reconciliationand Holy Eucharist to be received in second grade andConfirmation to be received inninth grade. The RCIA (Rite ofChristian Initiation forAdults) is also provided for adults whowish to become Catholic or have been baptized Catholic butnever received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Programs

  • ReligiousEducation - grades one through nine providessupplemental religiousinstruction for our youth to aid parents withtheir responsibility of teaching their children the CatholicFaith.
  • Rite ofChristian Initiation of Adults(RCIA) - The program includes a studyof the Scripture, Sacraments, Liturgy, prayer, and the studyof Catholics and the Church. The program begins in Octoberand concludes at the Easter Vigil.
