Who We Are

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal benefit society founded on the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.

In 1882, Father Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in New Haven, CT as a mutual aid society for Catholic families.

In 1887, the Thomas P McDonough Council #330 was established in North Attleboro and has served the town of North Attleboro for over 125 years.

Council #330 serves the parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s in North Attleboro, and St. Mark’s in Attleboro Falls.

What We Do

Charity – Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action.

Local Examples of Charity:

  • We participate in the annual Charity Fund drive which is more commonly known as the Tootsie Roll Drive.
  • We provided hearing aids to a local child born with a hearing defect.
  • We provide subscriptions of the Fall River Diocesan newspaper, The Anchor, to the N.A. Council on Aging recreation rooms.
  • We donate funds and manpower to local Catholic institutions to meet a variety of needs.

Unity – None of us is as good as all of us. Members of the Knights of Columbus all know that – together – we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually.   You can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.

Fraternity – Individual Knights around the world gave more than 10 million hours of their time last year to assist sick and/or disabled members and their families.
