The Religious Education program of St. Mark’s Parish seeks to provide adults, youth, and children with the knowledge, experiences, and skills necessary to become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. The material taught for all grade levels is how to become a disciple of Jesus Christ by the experience of the Church’s mission which includes word, worship, and service. We live out the mission of the word by reading scripture and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. We carry out the mission of worship as we participate in liturgies, communal prayer, and participating in the sacraments. We live out the mission of service as we serve one another and the Church. The Religious Education program will offer formal classes, small group experiences, prayer experiences, family activities, liturgical and sacramental celebrations and offer involvement in service projects. The Religious Education program will prepare children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist to be received in second grade and Confirmation to be received in ninth grade. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is also provided for adults who wish to become Catholic or have been baptized Catholic but never received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

  • Religious Education – grades one through nine provides supplemental religious instruction for our youth to aid parents with their responsibility of teaching their children the Catholic Faith.
  • Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults(RCIA) – The program includes a study of the Scripture, Sacraments, Liturgy, prayer, and the study of Catholics and the Church. The program begins in October and concludes at the Easter Vigil.
